When we breathe in a very conscious and continual way, the mind begins to unhook and we begin to relax the part of the brain called the "structured mind" that most of us are in majority of the time. 

It's the inner-critic and fear-based mind where we are disconnected from our body.

When the mind relaxes, we get into our body and when we are breathing into our body, we're unbinding a lot of stuck energy and emotion that is stagnant and hanging out in our system. 

We release what is keeping us stuck in the same patterns and beliefs that are blocking us from receiving + being in alignment with what we desire.

Through breathwork we allow our body to feel safe to receive, feel at ease, free and expansive.

What is Trauma-Informed Breathwork?

Trauma-informed breathwork is a method where we use continual breathwork in a safe way to break down emotions and emotional trauma in the body that are stagnant and create havoc on our energetic systems.

Breathwork is a practice of allowing our systems to see a different perspective whereby we feel deeply connected to our bodies and understand and experience the intelligence contained within our systems.

 

Breathwork is a way to heal, release, and transform.

How is trauma-informed breathwork different from other breathing patterns and modalities?

The core difference is that trauma-informed breathwork (TIB) is for healing and transformation. There are a lot of breathing practices where the goal or outcome is relaxation, but with TIB, relaxation and connection are an after effect of the practice.

 

The goal with TIB is to unearth the stuck energy, emotions and trauma that prevents us from living in our highest alignment and operating in elevated frequencies.

            "We breathe every day, we need it to live, but we do it without thinking.  Now imagine adding thought to your breath, adding movement to your breath, it's a game changer.   

With each breath work class I take, I feel a release of blocked energy, an opening of my mind and heart to thoughts and ideas that were there all along but not allowed to come up because of my own resistance. 

Each class changes my outlook on situations, and most importantly on all those "what if's" we always tell ourselves. It’s as though I hit a reset button on my mind.

 

Everyone's experience is unique but the result is the same, a different or clearer perspective of our own soul, our thoughts, our fears and our dreams.

On your part, it takes some vulnerability to give in to your breath and release any resistance that may come up during class.  But knowing you're in a safe space and feeling the energy of others in the class allows you to surrender and just follow Kim's voice. 

She begins by explaining the benefits of breathwork, the process, and what you may experience during class, making sure you're comfortable before she begins to guide you through what is a very healing hour.
